Straker and Across Systems have signed a global partner deal that highlights the growing technology and business relationship between the two companies.
Straker Interactive has furthered its movement towards gaining a leadership position in the burgeoning Web Globalisation Market with the announcement that it has completed the 2nd Phase of integration between the Across Language Server and ShadoCMS.
The initial integration between the two products was aimed at allowing the passing of web content, managed through Shado, into the Across Language Server where the workflow processes and capabilities of Across kick in to manage the translation requirements. The downside of this process was the amount of time needed to keep on top of web content that is often changing multiple times over short time periods and the processes required to actually manage that.
crossConnect v2.0 - the connection point between Shado and Across - effectively automates the whole language translation workflow and publication process. In the diagram below the process once the content has been created right through to the point of (and potentially including) publishing is automated within ShadoCMS.
The Benefits
Consider that the key challenge when taking steps to localise various websites is actually not the initial translation process - in reality most CMS vendors claim ML capabilities by creating copies of the primary site and enabling a one of translation - but actually being able to manage the various localised versions of a site once they have started to diverge (and diverge they will as content creation will sit aross editors and publishers in different regions and with limited visibility of what each other are doing). Not managing and understanding this divergence will effectively render your non primary sites (i.e. the ones centralised marketing do not have direct control over) either redundant through the presentation of outdated content - or a liability as the content (legal documents, pricing etc ) is our of date.
The Shado/Across solution provides the solution:
- Every content object in Shado exists in parallel meaning Shado acknoowledges and manages the relationships between the different language formats of the same content object
- Every time a new lnguage version of a content object is created Shado automatically pciks up the content and pushes it into the Across workflow for translation from the source language into the target language.
- Shado checks back in with the Across server to get status updates on the job. Once a job is marked complete Shado will prepare the content for publishing and use the standard workflow principles within Shado to manage the publishing process.
