SpatialKey Launches on ShadoCMS

SpatialKey the next generation Information Visualization, Analysis and Reporting System developed by Straker partner Universal Mind launched yesterday with the website running on ShadoCMS

Straker and Universal Mind take their long standing commercial relationship to a new level with the launch of the SpatialKey website on ShadoCMS.

SpatialKey represents the latest cutting edge Information Visualization, Analysis, and Reporting; all powered by Adobe FLEX. The heart of what SpatialKey does is that it enables you to quickly visualize your data over both space and time. Allowing for playback, map comparison, aggregate mapping, and visualization via heat index, SpatialKey lets you see your data as never before.

SpatialKey Gallery - lists a few dataset/template pairs that we think tell great stories. Read the descriptions of the datasets and then launch the app to play with the data yourself.
San Antonio Prostitution Crimes - This link will jump you straight into exploring the prostitution crimes in San Antonio from Jan 2006 - July 2007. Check out how clearly the heatmap points out the corners that are the hotspots in the city.
Growth of Walmart - This link will load the Walmart dataset into a playback template that lets you click play and watch Walmart take over America.

With the website forming a fundamental component of the product launch and ongoing growth strategy it was important that the team chose a WCMS framework that could be extended to meet the changing needs of the website and also be able to support existing requirements including engagement frameworks (blogs, rss etc), streaming video, signup forms and importantly the localising of the content on an ongoing basis.

Shado is gaining rapid recognition as the Number One solution for any company running high traffic, large, or functionally intensive sites in many languages. As the SpatialKey site evolves and grows being able to manage dynamic web content (like Blogs, User Feedback etc) using Shado's inherent workflow and language translation capabilities is fundamental.

This release is only a Beta version but keep an eye on the site as more examples and updates to the product and technology are loaded on the site.
