Sportsys Launches Stats Portal on ZoomFLEX Framework

Sportsys launches ZoomFLEX based Stats Portal for the Tri Nations

Sportsys, one of the first clients to utilise ZoomFLEX in the development of its beta Fantasy Sports and Stats Portal products has just launched its Stats Portal product Statsys on the Australian Rugby Union website (www.rugby.com.au) as the sites official Stats Portal.
There were a number of key reasons that the team at Sportsys chiose ZoomFLEX as the underlying engine to power the delivery of these products:
  • As the stats portal is an application that consumers interact with it is very difficult to estimate underlying server requirements. Load can quickly increase if word spreads virally about the site. ZoomFLEX SaaS runs on the Amazon Cloud and as such can be quickly scaled if load increases rapidly
  • In most cases the clients who utilise the Stats software will not make a decision until weekys before the launch of the season. The rapid development environment enabled by ZoomFLEX ensures that even with immovable deadlines the products can be rapidly customised and deployed
  • Advertisers are interested in reaching audiences through different medioums than static Banner driven mechanisms. The AIR product set enables the sportsys products to be extended beyond the browser and even onto mobile interfaces increasing reach and importantly attractiveness to advertisers
According to David Scribner, Head of Media at Sportsys "the delivery of a fully workng application to clients is an incredibly complicated process that involves taking enormous reams of statistical data (often in real time), uploading into ur environment, making sure all files match with our player profiles and other information then getting it out to the sports fan who wants to see the information in real time and as accurately as possible", "without the ZoomFLEX it would be very difficult for us to bring this type of product to market at anywere near the price poitn that we have benn able to"
The next round of development is aboutto kick off and will take advantage of some of the updates available in FLEX 3, integration of Video Control and much more.
