UNITEC is a leader in applied tertiary education offering a wide range of qualifications from certificate to doctoral level. In 2003 it served over 61,000 students who participated in 136 programmes of study, 14,328 of these were formal programmes and some 47,000 were continuing education.
The Institute operates from two main campuses where staff and students from over 70 countries are represented. The 55-hectare main campus is situated 15 minutes from Auckland''s city centre and their second campus is located in Waitakere City.

Challenge
UNITEC needed a Content Management System that created unified, simple access to a wide variety of information, online services and resources. The CMS also had to be scalable and technologically mature enough to integrate with the existing hardware environment and application architecture.
Solution
Shado CMS Content Management System.
Results
The UNITEC web team began with base Shado CMS training. They then built sections of the site and came back to Straker for further training and assistance. The project was completed entirely by the UNITEC team and provides a vast array of information for existing and potential students and staff.
The site utilizes a DHTML menu structure built by Straker to interact with Shado CMS for dynamic display of content based on the Shado CMS site tree.
